RESEARCH FACILITY

DEDICATED RESEARCH FACILITIES

Olus owns and operates its own research facilities, where we conduct research on optimal animal health and performance. We have several facilities for poultry, swine, and ruminants where we test the efficacy of our products. Using these facilities, we can carry out extensive nutritional analyses that form the scientific basis for helping farmers improve the nutrition and health of their livestock in a sustainable way.

RESEARCH FOR ANIMAL HEALTH

We are committed to constantly improving farm animal health by harnessing the power of nature. Our ambition is to demonstrably improve the health of livestock worldwide by developing our knowledge and sharing our expertise. We do this by working together with our partners and stakeholders. At the same time, we have our products tested at international universities and independent research institutes. In this way, we strive towards the common goal of better animal health and antibiotic-free production.

OUR RESEARCH FACILITY’S

TWEEDE VALTHERMOND, NEDERLAND

At the research facility in Tweede Valthermond in the Netherlands, we research feed additives for poultry.

SCHUINESLOOT, THE NETHERLANDS

At the research facility in Schuinesloot in the Netherlands, we research feed additives for ruminants.

IN-HOUSE LABORATORY

IN-HOUSE LABORATORY

Olus has its own laboratory to carry out all the quality analyses and checks needed to offer a standardised, high-quality product. Our laboratory is in short connection with our production factory to keep the production process in good line and keep looking for new innovations and technologies.

GC-MS TECHNIQUE

Olus uses the GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) technique. GC-MS is applied to all incoming and outgoing products to separate unknown substances into individual components (GC) that we can then detect and identify. Besides identification, we can also very accurately determine the amount of these components in our products, even if they are only very small concentrations. This allows us to guarantee that our valuable ingredients are present in the feed, promoting healthy and profitable animals.

GC-FID TECHNIQUE

Olus uses Gas Chromatography with Flame Ionization Detection (GC-FID) for product and quality control active ingredients in both incoming raw materials and finished products.

Fatty acid analysis
GC-FID is used to determine fatty acid profiles, ensuring consistency and compliance with predefined product specifications.

Glyceride analysis
GC-FID is also applied to quantify glycerides, supporting verification of product composition and quality control of active ingredients.

By applying these analyses, Olus verifies that products meet internal quality standards and specification requirements throughout the production process. GC-FID enables accurate quantification of fatty acids and glycerides, even at low concentrations, supporting consistent product quality between batches.
